The Systems/Network Administrator will be responsible for developing, enhancing and sustaining the IT operations, practices and projects. You are required to perform day to day administration duties of the network/server environment and to manage your assistant. You will assist in the design and planning of the IT infrastructure under the guidance of the Chief Technology Officer. You will also be responsible for the group's backup procedures, technology inventory control and required to help the company's Oracle Database Administrator with the maintenance of the Oracle Servers and data management.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience in a Systems/Network Administration role. You will be confident in the use of the following technologies:
Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
Microsoft XP/Vista desktop, Office 2003/2007, NT/2000/2003 server, active directory
Installation and configuration of web servers and application servers (Apache, JBoss, Tomcat), firewalls/security, NIS/NFS, DNS, MTAs
General TCP/IP Networking
Knowledge of Mail Server and NAS/SAN network storage operating system
Supporting routers, Linux firewalls, switches, hubs, and other network devices; Cisco experience preferred
VPN/Cisco and other similar remote technologies
Industry-standard backup and recovery tools
Server virtualization products
Advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of Oracle Database and other operating systems such as Sun SOLARIS and AIX are considered an important asset but you will otherwise be expected to learn these technologies on the job.
